April Weds 26th-Monday May 1st , 2017
We are delighted to present our third Island training camp based at the fantastic 4 star Eco Resort of Club Pollentia, a 50 minute transfer from Palma airport. This ride camp presents a great opportunity for some relaxed blue sky riding and early season mileage building. This is peak week for the island with many Pros and amateurs alike fine-tuning for the Grand Tours and big sportives, including Mr Wiggins who resides just up the road. The club is ideally set up for training road riders and triathletes alike. The islands main sportive is also occurring, on the Saturday for those seeking an early challenge, in summer ride kit.Regsiter at http://www.mallorca312.com/inscripcion
We will average 100-120kms/day including at least 2 categorised climbs, so around 600kms total for the camp, It also includes an opportunity to ride the famous ‘312’ round island sportive on the Saturday (which includes a more reasonable (167km) ‘Half option’) for those keen to get some big miles in and see some former Tour Kings in action( Miguel Indurain and Oscar Freire often lead out).
For those who haven’t ridden here before the Tranmuntana National Park is the highlight, with quality Cat 1 climbing straight out of the Team Sky training manual, scenic mountain and harbourside coffee stops and ideal training weather, averaging 22-25c in late April.
We also have the added bonus of relatively early finishing to enjoy the quality sports facilities of the club and surrounding beachfront, with a heated outdoor training pool ( rare at this time of year), gyms, tennis courts, kitesurfing school etc. The local towns of Alcudia and Porto Pollentia are also great for late lunching in the numerous Cycle Cafes and waterfront bistros, or a dip in the Med (averages 19-20c at this time).
Dining is at the club with quality buffet options for breakfast and the choice of two onsite restaurants with inside and outside seating from 6.30pm each evening. There are at least 4/5 menu options daily from traditional to healthy with fresh local produce and great onsite service.
The prices includes transfers for you and your bike from Palma airport on the evening of Wednesday April 26th, returning Monday afternoon on the 1st ( UK bank holiday), 4 star accommodation in twin garden rooms at Club Pollentia, breakfast and evening meals, Expert guiding, briefings, a following support vehicle and the chance to enter the fantastic Majorca International sportive on the Saturday entering either the ‘312’ full island tour or half distance 167km sportive on the Saturday.
