The Raid Pyrenean 100 hour challenge

720km in 100 hours from  Atlantic to Mediterranean, following the Franco/Spanish frontier, with over 11,000 metres of ascent!

The Raid Pyrenean is a fantastic challenge- a true ‘Randonnee’ in every sense of  long distance riding! The original route established in 1950 by the  Bearnease Veloclub follows the main border route, and we use this for days 1 and 2 incorporating all the major cols, then traverse over the mighty Port De Pailhere in the Ariege, thus avoiding heavy traffic on day 3, albeit with a tougher climb.

It is a significant challenge with the 2 middle days effectively back on back ‘Etapes’ involving the mighty Tour climbs of the Tourmalet, Aubisque, Aspin and Peyresourde.

The entire region has stunning vistas and quiet, well maintained, low traffic roads .
